This is our 16th day in isolation during the great pandemic of 2020. We are at our home in the suburbs, not at our beautiful summer home, but boy are we thinking about it! We’ve been really busy with our Media business since this all started. So busy that I haven’t been able to design the posts I wanted to create for the “Go Tiny Living – How to Keep Yourself Busy During Isolation” series I was going to produce. LOL!
Today, I don’t feel like working on the same projects I’ve been staring at so I started working on something that needed some much needed attention… Go Tiny Living! We have a new fun logo, a color change on the website and lots of new stories. So much has changed since we started this blog. I’ll get you all caught up, though. No worries.
Part of the reason I decided to write this blog is because every time I pick up my journal, I don’t know what to say, but I want to write. I know it’s important to document this situation we’re in. We’ll all talk about this into our old age, like our generation talks about 9/11. Our kids will remember this from a completely different perspective. They’ll remember missing their friends or wanting to go back to school (yes, we have one who wants to go back), or wanting to see their girlfriend (who broke up with him anyway), or they wanted to keep working because they needed money. But we, as adults, will remember feeling the panic about how to take care of all these kids with only the groceries we have in our garage. Do we have enough? What if one or more of us gets sick? We have people in the house with asthma, what does that mean for them? Are there enough wipes? Should we hoard toilet paper? Yes, toilet paper. How are we going to pay our bills? Will our business still be intact when this is over?
So many questions in such an uncertain time. But now, on day 16, I can see those fears and worries are being taken care of, although some of them slowly. Only 2 of our 7 children stayed at home with us, leaving us more food to go around… and toilet paper! LOL! We started our isolation a little ahead of the rest of the world, so we have all remained healthy. The government is going to send a relief check soon and we are just as busy in our business as we have ever been. So some of those fears have been alleviated.
We’re sad that our other 5 kiddos are out in the world and we can’t protect them. But we have to remind ourselves daily that we raised them to be independent, smart, confident kids and they are capable of washing their hands without us reminding them. Hard to remember when you still see them as little toddlers.
My hope is that I’ll be able to continue writing about the daily happenings here and also pass on some tips and tricks to help make life a little simpler. With a true heart to downsize and Go Tiny, there are so many ideas that dance around in my brain and it’s time to start sharing them.
We’d love to hear your feedback, ideas and things you’re doing to stay sane and healthy. Coming up next… Our new logo and what it’s meaning is. Watch for it!
